Good and not so good

Well the not so good .... as always it is health crap for me I am apparently an expert at injuring myself in different ways. I had an infection going on around my eye and had gotten up after being asleep to go check on it (was thinking of calling dr) and go to the bathroom. All was otherwise fine. Went to leave the bathroom and had the most excruciating pain in my rib cage. I actually thought it was a pleurisy attack at the time (HOMG those frikking HUUUURRRRTTT...I've had cracked ribs before and they rank right up there with that) anyway...so just to be on the safe side woke hubby and told him I needed to go to ER (I also couldn't get a good breath because I couldn't breathe in very deeply) The car ride there was absolutely excruciating and getting out of the car when we got there put me in tears. It was more than I could take almost. They did an EKG (I didn't think it was my heart so it wasn't much of a surprise when that was fine) but they seem to think it was a pulled muscle (a badly pulled one) and gave me something for pain. Thought I was supposed to get muscle relaxers too but I didn't and some antibiotic for my eye. Soooo we came home and I have trouble kinda sitting up it continues to hurt more (I've sat up too long really right now) I went to bed after taking the pain medicine and then had to make a couple of phone calls and when I went to roll over HOMG it seriously felt like I was breaking everything trying to do so. (one of those kinda funny because you are thinking how ridiculous it is at the time but you are in too much pain to laugh things....) so I lay there. Stuck. No one in the next room can hear me. So I kind of slide over to the side of the bed and slide my legs off thinking I was going to get up in a sitting position to get up. Nope. I wind up sliding down forcing my back into an arch and pretty much dying some right there. No fun. Somehow I manage to get up enough to get to the door. Told my hubby (this was later in the day and he was in the living room) what ever it was I was going to tell him...went to lay back down and promptly discovered laying flat on my back is not going to be an option so then I had to have him help me sit up til I could get pillows behind me. This really sucks for me because I hate being down that low that I can't even do something so simple as roll over or get out of bed. Nothing drives me more batty. In any case they said I'd probably be like this for a week so I am trying to take it easy but not let myself stay too stiff at the same time. They said I would have to watch for pneumonia because I can't take deep breaths. I am having to put off my last few sessions of PT because I can't move. (though I may ask if there is anything I can do about that) So anyway there is that.

Now for the sorta good. I can now elaborate some on one of the two situations I couldn't do so with earlier. My 2nd oldest had an incident with a severe infection a year or so ago. She got over the infection or so we thought. She moved to another state and wound up finding she still has the infection in her body showing up in another spot so she had to go in and get it taken care of. It was a scary experience because this is an infection that is known to become pretty dangerous if left very long at all and is actually a pretty big deal. She seems to have caught it in time so hopefully it is going to be okay. She is on meds for it and had a wound it made that had to be cleaned out. Can be there for her via phone or internet but too far away to be there personally which kinda sucks. She and her fiance also recently both got jobs working at the same place so congrats to them both. Pretty awesome.  They seem to be getting their future planned out now and have some pretty good goals in mind if they can stick with them all should be pretty good.

Had a parent teacher meeting with my youngest's teacher. That went pretty good. We get tickled because she comes home telling us these stories about "field trips" she goes one. Usually involving a giant eagle that flies the class around. We told the teacher about this and apparently when she talks about home we live in a zoo with peacocks and zebras and such. Very imaginative. The class got to go see a circus tent being put up today. (for real not one of my youngest child's tall tales LOL) So that is pretty cool. We are going to be having Frontier days here soon. Our town's local yearly celebration. Kinda excited about that. Dunno how much I can do due to pain but going to try.
at the free fair this is a big tank they do demonstrations in. I missed the demonstrations but this guy was pretty cool. He was all posing and everything.
